Bishop Aaron B.
Lackey, Sr. has been anointed
and chosen by God to preach and teach the gospel of
Jesus Christ. He is the youngest child of the late
Deacon James E. Lackey, Sr. and Mother Nornell H.
Lackey. Bishop Lackey’s studies have allowed him
to receive his BA in Biblical Studies and his MA in
Biblical Counseling and a Doctorate of Biblical Studies
(DBS) Degree from the Midwest Theological Institute of
Indiana. Additionally, he has received several
Honorary Degrees, including a Doctorate of Theology from
the United Theological Institute & Seminary in Fairburn,

“The Bishop” has always been
known for his pleasant personality, organizational
skills, and his ability to lead others. Although
he had many good qualities, he did not know the Lord.
Since receiving salvation in September, 1983, his life
has become a visual illustration of the favor of God.

On March 2, 1985, he married his high school sweetheart,
Lakita Y. Caldwell. To this union, God blessed
them with two beautiful and very talented children,
Aaronlyn Lackey Wright (Leon, Jr.) and Aaron B. Lackey,
Jr.
Spiritually, God has elevated “The
Bishop” exponentially. In July, 1984, he
officially entered the ministry at the Christ Tabernacle
UCOGIC, under the leadership of Bishop (then Elder)
Spencer Lackey, Sr. On March 16,1986, he was
ordained as an “Elder” by the late Bishop Willis Paden,
Sr. In February of 1988, at the age of 22, he
became the Organizing Pastor of the Temple of Prayer
United Church of God in Christ. The prosperity of
his local church and his approachable demeanor enabled
him to advance and hold several positions in his
organization. In 2001, under his leadership, the
Temple of Prayer Church built and moved into one of the
most beautiful worship facilities in South Fulton
County, GA. On September 27, 2003, this awesome
Man of God became the first elected bishop in his
organization, following the death of our founder, the
late Bishop Marshall Carter. |
On March 20, 2004, he was
formally consecrated and installed as the Presiding Prelate
of the Georgia Northeast Jurisdiction of the United Churches
of God in Christ by Presiding Bishop Spencer Lackey. Shortly
after being elected to the episcopacy, Bishop Lackey was
elected to serve on his denomination’s Executive Board of
Bishops. As a bishop, he has served as the “Bishop of
Protocol”, the “Secretary of the Executive Board” and as the
“2nd & 1st Assistant Presiding Bishop.” In January, 2009,
the General Assembly of the United Churches of God in Christ
ratified Bishop A. B. Lackey as its Presiding Bishop for the
interim period of 13 months. On February 27, 2010, he was
officially ratified as the Chief Apostle & Presiding Bishop
of the United Churches of God in Christ, Inc. and was
Affirmed & Installed on July 19, 2010, during the
organization’s 30th International Annual Holy Convocation.
This man of vision expanded his horizons and was featured in
his first live recording entitled, “A Bishop’s Heart.”
Bishop Lackey has received numerous awards and honors. Among
them are the “Atlanta Gospel Choice ‘Chosen’ Award” and a
proclamation from the Georgia Secretary of State declaring
him an “Outstanding Georgia Citizen!” He currently serves as
the President of the historic civil rights organization,
SCLC (Southern Christian Leadership Conference) South Fulton
County Chapter, Member of the Board of Directors for the
Georgia State Unit of the SCLC, Co-coordinator of the
Faith-Based Initiative of the Atlanta Community Impact
Program (ACIP), Member of the South Fulton Kiwanis Club and
is the Organizing Chancellor of the United Theological
Institute & Seminary.
This powerful man of vision, has allowed God to birth within
him a message that is designed to “Save, Heal, Equip, and to
Evangelize” a lost and dying world. He uses his God-given
charisma to “Exemplify Holiness, With a Standard of
Excellence.”
Through the ministry of Bishop Doctor Aaron B. Lackey, Sr.,
know that your life will NEVER be the same!
